ACCESSIBILITY POLICY

Lucky Supply Inc. is committed to meeting its current and ongoing obligations under the Ontario Human Rights Code respecting non-discrimination by providing goods, services, or facilities to people with disabilities.

Lucky Supply Inc. understands that obligations under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 (AODA) and its accessibility standards do not substitute or limit its obligations under the Ontario Human Rights Code or obligations to people with disabilities under any other law.

Lucky Supply Inc. is committed to complying with both the Ontario Human Rights Code and the AODA.

Lucky Supply Inc. is committed to excellence in serving all customers including people with disabilities.

Our accessible customer service policies are consistent with the principles of independence, dignity, integration, and equality of opportunity for people with disabilities.

Lucky Supply Inc. will make reasonable efforts to ensure that:

  • Persons with disabilities are provided equal opportunity to obtain, use, and benefit from the company’s goods and services.
  • Goods and services are provided in a manner that respects the dignity and independence of persons with disabilities.
  • The goods and services provided to persons with disabilities are integrated with the provision to others unless an alternative measure is necessary to allow a person with a disability to benefit; the alternative measure may be temporary or permanent.
  • Communications with a person with a disability are conducted in a manner that takes the person’s disability into account.
  • Persons with disabilities may use Assistive Devices, Service Animals, and Support Persons as is necessary to access the company’s goods and services, subject to applicable laws.

Assistive Devices

People with disabilities may use their personal assistive devices when accessing our goods, services, or facilities.

In cases where the assistive device presents a significant and unavoidable health or safety concern or may not be permitted for other reasons, other measures will be used to ensure the person with a disability can access our goods, services, or facilities.

Communication

We will communicate with people with disabilities that take into account their disability. We will work with the person with a disability to determine what method of communication is most effective.

Employment

The Company will notify employees, potential hires and the public that accommodations can be made during recruitment and hiring.

The Company will notify staff that supports are available for those with disabilities. The Company will develop individual accommodation plans for employees.

Where needed, the Company will also provide customized emergency information to help an employee with a disability during an emergency.

Performance management and career development processes will take into account the accessibility needs of all employees.

Service Animals

We welcome people with disabilities and their service animals. Service animals are allowed on the parts of our premises that are open to the public.

When we cannot easily identify a service animal, our staff may ask a person to provide formal documentation from a regulated health professional that confirms the customer requires assistance from the service animal for reasons relating to his/her disability.

A service animal can be easily identified through visual indicators, such as when it wears a harness vest, or they help the person perform various tasks.

A regulated health professional is defined as a member of one of the following colleges:

If service animals are prohibited by another law, we will do the following to ensure that people with disabilities can access our goods, services, or facilities:

  1. Explain why the animal is excluded
  2. Discuss with the customer another way of providing goods, services, or access to facilities

Support Persons

A person with a disability who is accompanied by a support person will be allowed to have that supporting individual accompany them on our premises.

In certain cases, Lucky Supply Inc. might require a person with a disability to be accompanied by a support person for the health or safety reasons of:

  • The person with a disability
  • Others on the premises

Before making a decision, Lucky Supply Inc. will:

  • Consult with the person with a disability to understand their needs.
  • Consider the health or safety reasons based on available evidence.
  • Determine if there is no other reasonable way to protect the health or safety of the person or others on the premises.

Notice of Temporary Disruption

In the event of a planned or unexpected disruption to services or facilities for customers with disabilities, Lucky Supply Inc. will notify customers promptly. This clearly posted notice will include information about the reason for the disruption, its anticipated length of time, and a description of alternative facilities or services, if available.

Feedback Process

Lucky Supply Inc. welcomes feedback on how we provide accessible customer service. Customer feedback will help us identify barriers and respond to concerns.

Customers are encouraged to leave feedback in the following ways:

  • Leave feedback on our company website
  • Contact us by phone or email

All feedback, including complaints, will be handled in the following manner:

  • Feedback will be directed to Human Resources, who will distribute the feedback to the appropriate/affected departments
  • Customers can expect to hear back in (3) three days

Lucky Supply Inc. will ensure that the feedback process is accessible to people with disabilities by providing or arranging for accessible formats and communication support on requests.

Notice of Availability of and Format of Documents

Lucky Supply Inc. will notify the public that documents related to accessible customer service, are available upon request by posting a notice in the following location(s)/ way(s):

  • Lunchroom bulletin board located in the warehouse
  • Posted paper copies in office cubicles
  • Online document on shared HR drive

Lucky Supply Inc. will provide this document in accessible formats or with communication support, upon request. We will consult with the person making the request to determine the suitability of the format or communication support. We will provide the accessible format in a timely manner, at no additional cost.

Modifications to Policies

Any policies of Lucky Supply Inc. that do not respect and promote the principles of dignity, independence, integration, and equal opportunity for people with disabilities will be modified or removed.

This policy applies to all employees, volunteers, agents, and contractors who interact with the public on behalf of the company, including when the provision of goods and services occurs off Lucky Supply Inc. premises such as delivery services.
